I make abstract paintings that begin with color. A room, a landscape, or an ordinary object will stay with me because of the way its colors made me feel. When I paint, I’m often trying to find my way back to that feeling, even if I can’t quite name it.

I work intuitively, building and changing each piece as I go. I use oil sticks, paint, and drawing materials to layer color, blur edges, and draw back through the surface. Some marks disappear beneath new ones; others keep finding their way back. I like letting a painting surprise me.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about memory and the strange way it holds onto certain details while letting others fade. My paintings aren’t meant to show a place exactly as it was. They’re closer to how it felt to be there. Painting gives me room to follow that feeling, and I hope the work gives someone else a moment to linger in it too.
